The purpose of the Black Alumni Chapter of the Oakland University Alumni Association is to bring alumni and friends back to Oakland University to acquaint them with the idea of involvement with and service to Oakland University.

The Black Alumni Chapter provides a communication network for black alumni and friends, acts as ambassadors between Oakland University and the black community, and provides programs through social, cultural and educational enrichment to encourage minority involvement. Chapter events range from winter gatherings to cheering on Oakland University’s Golden Grizzlies basketball teams to the annual “Just Friends” Christmas Celebration.
