Dinner and a Movie at Meadow Brook Hall
Tuesday, October 29, 2013 6:30 p.m.

Silence is golden at Meadow Brook Hall. Enjoy a casual three-course dinner while watching silent film comedian Charlie Chaplin in City Lights (1931) on the big screen in the Ballroom. The event will begin with brief remarks by Kyle Edwards, director of the OU cinema studies program, about Chaplin and the period in which he worked, as well as a special screening of The Chase, the 2012 Grizzdance Student Short Film Festival winner that pay homage to the era. A Night at OU Art Gallery
Tuesday, November 19, 2013 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Explore the Gilda Snowden retrospective exhibition, entitled, Gilda Snowden: Album, a Retrospective 1977-2010. Snowden, a Detroit artist with a career spanning over thirty years, was one of the inaugural Kresge Foundation Fellows in 2009. A wine and hors d'oeuvres reception will feature a talk from Dick Goody, director of the Oakland University Art Gallery. Tickets are $15 per person. Click here to register.

Exclusive Holiday Walk at Meadow Brook Hall

Bring your family and celebrate the 42nd annual Holiday Walk at the Great Estate all aglow with historic and holiday treasures. Enjoy a self-guided tour, visit with Santa and a reception with cookies and hot chocolate in the Hall. Tickets are $12 general admissions, $5 for students (OU, college), $5 for children 17 and under with an adult, free for children 2 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Student production of Sweet Charity in Varner Studio Theatre
Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 6 p.m.

Fall in love with Charity Hope Valentine in the student musical theatre production of Sweet Charity. Songs include "Big Spender" and "If My Friends Could See Me Now". Oakland Symphony Orchestra performance at Orchestra Hall
Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 6 p.m.

The full majesty of Orchestra Hall will provide a fitting backdrop to the Oakland Symphony Orchestra's final concert of the season. In collaboration with the Oakland University Symphony Chorus and Measure for Measure Men's Choral Society, the OSO will perform Symphonic Fantasy on Die Fraue ohne Schatten, TrV 234a by Richard Strauss; and Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
