Dear Fellow Alumni,

It has been several years since I was first honored to join the Board of Directors for the Oakland University Alumni Association. During this time, I’ve seen pride and generosity emerge among my fellow alumni through contributions that have had an ever-increasing and beneficial impact on students, outreach and recognition for our university.

In July 2011, the alumni association reached a significant milestone by extending membership to all alumni. As a graduate of OU, you now automatically qualify to receive the benefits available through the association without membership fees. We hope that this change will encourage you to participate in the life of the university in a way that is meaningful for you.

Together, alumni make a difference by joining fellow alumni at events that support scholarships and programs, volunteering their time, making a gift, advocating for OU, mentoring OU students, and sharing their OU pride. One of the most important things we can continue is to support scholarships and provide opportunities that help to ensure the success of the next generation of OU graduates.

If you haven’t been to campus recently I encourage you to visit. The university has had remarkable growth that would not be possible without alumni engagement, interest and support. Thank you for all that you do — you are living, breathing examples of the transformation and opportunity made possible by an Oakland University education.

Best regards,

Lynn Gross
OUAA Board of Directors
